Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

mypaw helps veterinary clinics and pet owners keep pet health records, vaccinations and appointments in one place, on the web at mypaw.space and in the mypaw iOS app. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. The website and the app use the same account and the same data.

Who is responsible for your data

Veterinary clinics decide what goes into their patients' records. For that information the clinic is responsible for your data, and mypaw processes it on the clinic's behalf to run the service. For your own account details, and for running mypaw itself, mypaw is responsible.

Information we collect

We only collect what is needed to provide the service:

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number (optional), role (clinic admin, vet, staff or pet owner) and your password, which we store only as a secure hash.
  • Clinic details: clinic name, address, country, phone, email, website, logo and time zone.
  • Pet information: name, species, breed, date of birth, sex, weight, color, microchip number, photos and notes.
  • Health records added by the clinic: vaccinations, diagnoses, procedures, lab results, prescriptions, medications given and attached files.
  • Appointments: date and time, type, status and notes from you or the clinic.
  • Billing (clinics only): plan and subscription status. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Technical information: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, your language preference stored in your browser, a log of changes made to records (who changed what, and when), and standard server logs used for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • Provide the service: show records, book and manage appointments, and let clinics care for their patients.
  • Send service emails: account invitations, appointment confirmations, changes and reminders, vaccine and check-up reminders, and password resets.
  • Bill clinic subscriptions.
  • Keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

What we don't do

We do not sell your information, and mypaw does not show ads inside the product. Measuring our own ads on the website happens only with the Meta Pixel, and only after you accept, as described below. Pet owners only see their own pets; clinic staff only see their own clinic's records.

Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run mypaw, and only as needed for their service:

  • Vercel: hosting, file storage for photos and attachments, and privacy-friendly aggregate page analytics.
  • Turso: database hosting.
  • Stripe: subscription payments for clinics.
  • Resend: delivery of service emails.
  • Meta Platforms: the Meta Pixel on the website, only after you accept, to measure advertising.

Advertising measurement (Meta Pixel)

On the mypaw website we use the Meta Pixel to measure how our ads perform. The pixel is operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. For people in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited is Meta's lead company. The pixel is not used in the mypaw iOS app.

We do not load Meta's script (fbevents.js) and we do not set the _fbp cookie until you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press Reject, or if you have not chosen yet, the pixel does not run.

  • What it collects, only after you accept: the pages you view on mypaw.space, whether you arrived from one of our ads, basic browser and device information, and a cookie identifier (_fbp) that Meta uses to recognise the browser. Meta may combine this with information it already holds under its own privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/).
  • Why: to understand which ads bring clinics to mypaw. We do not sell this information, and we do not use the pixel to show ads inside mypaw.
  • Mexico (LFPDPPP): this notice tells you about the transfer to Meta for that purpose. We ask for your consent before the pixel runs. You can exercise your ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation and opposition) as described below.
  • United Kingdom (UK GDPR and PECR): consent is the lawful basis for this cookie and for this measurement. The pixel is not strictly necessary to use mypaw, so it stays off until you opt in.
  • How to opt out: press Reject on the banner, or open Cookie settings in the footer at any time and reject. That stops the pixel and clears the _fbp cookie we can see on mypaw.space. You can also review Meta's own ad settings at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences.

WhatsApp links

Some screens offer a button to message a clinic or pet owner on WhatsApp. It opens WhatsApp on your device with a prefilled message; mypaw does not send any data to WhatsApp. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to what you send there.

The mypaw iOS app

The app signs in to the same mypaw account and shows the same information as the website. It keeps a sign-in cookie on your device so you stay logged in until you sign out. The app does not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifier, contains no ads and does no tracking.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide the service. Clinics can edit or remove their records. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymize its information unless the law requires us to keep it (for example, billing records).

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how it is used. Depending on where you live, laws such as Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data (ARCO rights), the UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws give you these rights. Pet owners can also ask their clinic directly, since the clinic manages their pets' records.

To make a request, email privacy@mypaw.space. We will respond within the time the law requires.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access is limited by role so each person sees only what they need. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

mypaw is intended for adults and veterinary professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as mypaw changes. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app.
